As a former shipmate of Michael, the victim of this outrage committed by Theodore Bacino; as well as, a concerned citizen and resident of the State of Illinois, I am strongly opposing any parole consideration for Theodore Bacino. While Theodore Bacino may be old and infirm he is still alive and Michael is not. Theodore Bacino willfully and knowingly shot Michael while Michael was executing his duties as a peace officer in attempting to apprehend Theodore Bacino following a bank robbery and aborted kidnapping. Theodore Bacino displayed a complete lack of regard for rules governing society, and as a result, took the life of a fine officer, husband and father, and former cold war submarine veteran. It is a simple matter of respect for those loved ones left behind, our law-abiding society and our criminal justice system that Theodore Bacino never leave his cell. I stand firmly against any parole consideration for this dreg of society.

One of our Police Officers sent me the link for the parole petition. I have passed it on to other P/O's. I pray that your family stays strong and Mike's murderer stay where he belongs..Locked away from decent citizens. Having lost several friends on this job in violent confrontations with these cowards, the only consolation I get is that we now have another looking out for us from above and hopefully guiding us during our daily encounters on the street. Let's hope that the Illinois Parole Board uses common sense and does not bend to any special interests groups or the media in their decision.

Cop Killer Bacino should never be paroled but what is even more embarrassing is that his family must be put through the ringer every year just to keep this piece of garbage in his cell where he probably has too many priveleges. My heart goes out to his family. God bless.

My thoughts and prayers are with the Mayborne family. He should never get out.

I remember the incident and I think of all officers killed in the line of duty because you're always on 24/7. Our family keeps your family in our thoughts and prayers and we feel that Bacino should never see the outside of a prison cell.

It is sad that after making the ultimate sacrifice for his community, Detective Melbornes' family must endure this stress every year. I would hate to think my family would face this if something similar occurred to me. You would think our political leaders in Illinois would correct this, but I guess it is not a hot issue.

I lost a cousin who was Cpd in 1968 who was killed in the line of duty. HIs killer is still in prison, because of good loyal friends and police groups I would hope the killer of Officer Mayborne never smells the freah air from outside the prison walls.
